Tom Coughlin has won two Super Bowls in his eight years with the New York Giants.

Ok, honestly, the Giants only signed him through 2014 but I think we would all be surprised if Tom is still able to talk without urinating on himself by the end of this contract.

Since becoming a head coach in 1995 for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tom Coughlin has had his fair share of successes but with little recognition. His 142-114 (.555) is certainly nothing to be sniffed at. Going 12-7 for his career in the playoffs, Coughlin has coached the Giants to two Super Bowls (2007 & 2011). In both appearances he faced a highly favored New England Patriots team and both times he came out ahead.

There are few coaches out there whose successes are as overlooked as Coughlin’s. The Giants have all the pieces and, with Coughlin coming back, there is no reason for them not to be expected to playing well into the playoffs.

Tom Coughlin’s contract will keep him as head coach through the 2014 season but the terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.
